Brief benefit of sea salts

As a less processed food, sea salt is a natural source of a number of minerals, including zinc, iron and potassium. However, the type of minerals found in sea salt depends on where the salt came from. Additionally, the salt contains only trace amounts of these minerals and will likely not make much of an impact on your overall nutrient intake. That being said, the minerals in the sea salt affect taste, and as a coarser granule, you may be able to use less sea salt than table salt when flavoring food.
